Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Emenike, took to Instagram some hours ago to announce that he is quitting the national team.
The 28 year old who has been playing for the country for just 5 years, announced the end of his international career without stating any reason.
In the Instagram message he posted, he looked back on his victories, including the Africa Cup of Nations Top goalscorer award he won in 2013, when Nigeria took the AFCON Cup. He said he has never regretted playing for the country and apologized for not being the goalscorer he was well known for.

Emenike currently plays for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates, on a loan from his Turkish club, Fenerbahce.
Though his announcement contained no direct hint of animosity, fans are wondering if his exit is influenced by Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh. Former Eagles Captain and goalkeeper, who quit the Super Eagles team 3 weeks ago, also announced his exit on Instagram after a major disagreement with the coach.
Emmanuel Emenike has at least 4 Club titles from his stint at Karabükspor, Spartak Moscow, and Fenerbahçe; and one national title from the Super Eagles win at the African Cup Of Nations in 2013.
